Passion – when someone speaks about that thing they’re most passionate about and it becomes this intense stream of consciousness.
WHEN DO YOU MOST FEEL YOUR SENSE OF POWER IN BEING A WOMAN?
When I’m alone with myself – I think it’s more the fact that when I’m giving that time for myself to be present in my body, I’m truly appreciating who I am, what I’m made of, and the limitless capabilities of my body as a woman. I’m not distracted by the noise happening in the outer world, and not basing my power in being a woman on my relationships with others, not feeding power from others energies, but really trying to find the power as a woman within myself in order to be the best version for those around me.
HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT AGEING?
I think I’m excited to be older. I’m fortunate to be surrounded by a lot of incredible women that are older than me – they’re wise, powerful, nurturing, beautiful, confident. They’ve succeeded and failed to succeed again, and they’re definitions, values & perspectives have altered numerous times. They’ve ultimately lived more cycles of life. I think it’s so inspiring and I guess it makes ageing less scary because these women are literally thriving. But I think it’s the getting there that makes me feel anxious. There will always be days of dread as a female actor of colour where it feels like I’m racing against time and opportunity, so to be completely honest, I’m feeling like the next few years will definitely be a period of challenge, growth and expansion. I’m learning to let go, and not let fear hold me back.

That womxn are more in touch with their emotional intelligence.

WHAT IS YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR MENSTRUAL CYCLE?
Right now, I’m feeling a lot more in tune with my menstrual cycle and how it is innately connected to my emotions, thoughts and energy at different points in my cycle. I’ve been consciously learning to appreciate the fact that I have a menstrual cycle and the power it holds, whereas for a large part of my teens & early 20s, I’ve associated my menstrual cycle with anxiety and pain.

HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT YOUR CONNECTION TO EARTH?
I think I can really feel the difference when I consciously make time to connect with earth, especially because of how packed and spontaneous my working weeks tend to be. Every time I go away for a weekend to disconnect, earth gives me a calmness and groundedness that can’t be replicated.
WHAT WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO HAVE SAID ABOUT YOU IF A GIRL FOUND YOUR NAME ON THE INTERNET 100 YEARS FROM NOW?
“Wow that’s so cool she achieved everything she set out to do, but she’s also so beautiful and seems so genuinely kind?! I would’ve loved to be friends with her. She still looked so good at 70.”
